Doors Open Day 2017
We put on an exhibition of the history of our building, within the context of the 250th Anniversary of the New Town and a range of our current projects. Some wonderful nuggets of social history came up in conversations such as a BBC journalist reminiscing about interviewing the former Hearts owner, Wallace Mercer, on the mezzanine in the 1980’s and a woman from University of Edinburgh who told us about when the space was a preparatory college for the first women to attend the University in the 1870’s.
The feedback on our design work was encouragingly positive with a lot of interest in our local projects, particularly India Quay at Fountainbridge where many were asking “when will it be happening ?”.
