7N are encouraged to see that Fraser Avenue has been included as an exemplar case study for Community Involvement in the Scottish Government’s ‘Housing to 2040’ strategy.

Housing to 2040 sets out a vision for housing in Scotland to 2040 and a route map to get there:

“Fraser Avenue has shown that community involvement in the design and development of their neighbourhood – at all stages from feasibility to completion – is essential to making places great places to live and to creating a strong sense of community. It has created a model for the social aspect of regeneration, taking it beyond building housing into creating new neighbourhoods.”

The proposals have transformed the neighbourhood into a place designed to give everyone their own personal space, their own front doors and a re-discovered a sense of community spirit.
