We have submitted proposals for planning approval for an office building that places well-being at the heart of its design, on behalf of the EDI Group Ltd.
The building will form a core part of our award winning India Quay regeneration project in the Fountainbridge area of Edinburgh. The 12,000 sqm building has been designed to respond to the agile working demands of emerging entrepreneurial businesses in the city who are increasingly shifting away from the standard model of traditional corporate offices.
The building will place a high emphasis on wellbeing with tall, naturally lit, floor plates and a hybrid ventilation system will allow user control over personal working environments, whilst providing the ability for occupiers to switch to natural ventilation if they wish. By using these and other sustainable strategies, the building’s carbon footprint will be significantly lower than that of a traditional Grade A office.
Ewan Anderson, Managing Partner at 7N Architects said:
“We set out to design a loose fit building that would accommodate a diverse range of users who would enjoy the flexible space, the fresh air and daylight and the buzz of being in an exciting new quarter. It is a big step away from the traditional office environment and we are excited about delivering a place that will help to attract and grow the young entrepreneurial businesses that Edinburgh is becoming very adept at cultivating.”
