We’ve recently submitted a planning application for a new purpose-built student accommodation scheme on Russell Road, Edinburgh. Developed on behalf of our client Ardent Group, the 182-room proposal will transform a derelict brownfield site on a key active travel route between Roseburn and Gorgie.
Featuring a well-proportioned design with a robust palette of high quality materials, drawing inspiration from the site’s industrial heritage, the project aims to deliver an exemplar model of student living in the city.
The development will predominantly provide cluster flats with generous shared living and dining spaces, fostering community and connection among residents. At street level, shared amenity spaces will create an active frontage, leading through to a terraced courtyard garden — designed in collaboration with rankin fraser landscape architecture.
This proposal represents a key step toward meeting Edinburgh’s growing demand for high-quality student housing while revitalising a prominent city centre site.
