7N Architects have recently submitted a planning application for Salamander Yards, a new residential development on Salamander Street, Leith on behalf of Cruden Homes.
The proposals will deliver 99 new homes alongside two ground floor commercial spaces and a new public square on the street frontage. The proposals will replace an existing retail shed, fulfilling the City of Edinburgh’s ambitions to develop new housing on brownfield sites. The designs also anticipate CEC’s ‘Leith Connections’ programme of streetscape improvements which will see a protected cycle route created between Salamander Street and Lindsay Road. The project will deliver a mix of one, two and three bedroom homes with 35% of the units being affordable and over 50% having dual-aspects.
