Clyde Gateway Innovation
A mixed-use regeneration masterplan for a dynamic innovation ecosystem on the River Clyde, supporting enterprise, research and collaboration.

This ambitious mixed-use masterplan establishes a strategic framework for over 1 million sq.ft. of development and infrastructure across 200 acres spanning the City of Glasgow and South Lanarkshire.
Designed to drive innovation in the Clyde Gateway area, the project focuses on delivering an ecosystem of flexible spaces that attract and support high-growth enterprises, research institutions and advanced manufacturing.
The placemaking-led approach creates a cohesive and attractive environment where businesses benefit from proximity, enabling collaboration, cross-sector innovation, and knowledge exchange. It is a long term vision for a place where people will want to live and work, supported by the physical, social and environmental infrastructure that will allow it to adapt and evolve to meet current and future needs. Central to this is the priority given to a pedestrian and cycle friendly public realm, a mixed use and active urban environment and the provision of high quality green space alongside the river.
At the heart of the project is Innovation Central - a dynamic hub on the banks of the River Clyde, providing flexible workspaces, event space and a central meeting point for a growing innovation community.

The River Clyde forms a green ribbon through the masterplan, creating the spine for a connected green network of spaces that balance well-being and biodiversity.

‘This masterplan reflects our ambition to create a place where innovation and community go hand in hand. We’re building a sustainable, scalable ecosystem that will support everything from start-ups and university spinouts to major employers, while continuing to deliver jobs, homes and opportunities for local people.’ - Martin McKay, Chief Executive, Clyde Gateway
